The New Year Blessing and Sangha Offering on 7 January 2023 was graced by 57 community-based Buddhist monastics and 77 laypersons, consisting of volunteers and invited guests.
Aranya’s Honorary Deputy Executive Director, Venerable Chuan Yu, expressed his appreciation towards the community-based monastics that they provide opportunities for Aranya’s volunteers to cultivate merits. On behalf of Aranya, Venerable Chuan Yu also sincerely thanked the volunteers for their dedicated service, the donors for their generous contribution, as well as the agency partners for their professional service.
The event highlights included the Medicine Buddha mantra chanting which generated blessings for everyone near and far.
Aranya also presented an annual report of the services that were rendered in 2022. Together with Venerable Fo Zhi and Venerable Jing Fan, pioneer volunteers namely Serene Low, Seah Kee Huat and Teo Chiew Nah shared their personal journeys with Aranya.
Aranya concluded the event by offering dana to every monastic on behalf of all who contributed and the merit dedication was conducted in all three traditions.
