In collaboration with BuddhistYouth Network (BYN), Aranya conducted this year’s Ullambana Festival Sangha Offering ceremony at Tai Pei Buddhist Centre on 2nd September 2023, as part of Singapore Buddhist Youth Day celebrations. It is a blessed opportunity to invite close to 60 Sangha members of three traditions: Mahayana, Theravada and Vajrayana for the Sangha offering ceremony. More than 200 members of the public also attended the event.
On the early morning of the Ullambana ceremony, more than 100 Aranya volunteers and youths from BYN arrived at the venue to do the coordination. In addition to inviting the Sangha to recite sutras and prayers to the Triple Gem, Sangha representatives of three traditions gave dharma talks to members of the public. The devotees proceeded to queue in an orderly manner and carried out the ritual of offering to the Sangha.
After lunch, youths from BYN took initiative to bring some monastics on an outing to Gardens by the Bay and spent a meaningful Buddhist Youth Day with the Sangha members.
